Ashes Memorial Heart Silver Glitter Keepsake

Description

A beautiful clear glass heart infused with your loved ones ashes and a sprinkling of silver glitter.

A choice of two sizes – 8cm or 6.5cm.  The heart can be used as an ornament or hanging. The hanging version has a hole drilled into the glass and then a small silver coloured jump-ring and silver ribbon is added.

The memorial hearts are handmade using specialist art glass and are fired in the kiln at least twice. The cremation ashes and glitter are sprinkled carefully over the clear glass and are then fused in between layers of glass. It’s a unique, durable, special memorial. No two hearts are the same, due to the process of making.

The ashes are finely sprinkled within the glass and are not as noticable as on the Rainbows. Cremation ashes have a natural slight metallic sparkle once fired in the kiln.

The Process:

After you have placed your order, I will send you a kit with full instructions, to collect the ashes. I only need around half a teaspoon worth, any unused ashes will be returned along with your heart.  Once I’ve received the ashes back, it will take up to 2 weeks to make your heart.

It’s an honour to make these available and you can be assured I take great care of the ashes of your loved one while in my possession. I have a special area in my workshop set aside.

This looks delicate but it is pretty tough at 6mm thick, but as with all glass, it’s best to keep it out of the reach of children and handle it with love and care.

Suitable for indoor or outside use, fused glass doesn’t fade in the sun and is weatherproof (I do advise to protect it from the wind).

The postage price includes me sending the ashes kit to you and the final heart being sent on completion.

2 x Postage is included in the postage price – Sending the ashes kit to you via 1st class and sending the finished item to you via your chosen postage method. I highly recommend sending the ashes to me via Signed For post at least, to ensure they get to me.

Unfortunately there is no option for prepaid postage when sending signed for. I’ve researched it in the past and spoken to Royal Mail to find a solution but as of now, it isn’t something they offer. Many people choose to send the ashes back via special delivery to ensure they get to me, or delay sending them back so it isn’t a one size fits all procedure, unfortunately. Postage Info

There are a range of postage options to choose from within your Basket or at Checkout. Prices start from £3.25 for smaller items and £3.85 for parcel orders.

All orders are sent Signed For or Tracked, depending on which service you choose, with the exception of Ashes Jewellery products which are sent Special Delivery.

FREE 2nd Class Signed For Delivery is available on orders over £80, excluding Ashes products.

International customers can buy through my Etsy store.

All orders are packaged extremely well to prevent damage in the post. The packaging I use can be re-used or recycled and I encourage you to recycle or re-use the bubble wrap, foam and ribbons.

Care of Your Glass

I wrote a blog post on how not to hang your glass – please don’t use window suckers!

General Care Instructions:

  • Glass is breakable so please handle with care.
  • Gentle handwash only – no harsh chemicals or abrasives – wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth.
  • If your glass is to be placed outside, please protect it from wind and storms.


    • Jewellery Care:

  • Never immerse in water.
  • Ensure you remove your jewellery before bathing/showering, swimming and cleaning.
  • Sterling Silver and Plated Silver will always tarnish over time, especially when not worn for a time. Use a good qualty soft silver polishing cloth to remove any tarnish and bring back the shine.

    • You might not know there are different Rainbow colour versions! Here’s an explanation.
